Wo(men) Mind the Water Podcast

Exploring the connection between women and water through storytelling

But when we want to communicate, we use art. Wo(men) Mind the Water Artivist Series

Wo(men) Mind the Water podcasts engage artists in conversation about their work. We explore their connection with the ocean and how it influences their art. Through these stories, we hope to inspire you and move you to take action to protect the ocean.

We have spoken with nearly 90 artivists from across the globe. Our latest podcast features Krista Shoe, founder of Mother of Corals, a coral restoration and education organization. Krista educates others about how to keep coral healthy. In addition she is establishing her own reefs in hopes of combating the negative effects of rising ocean temperatures on coral. The work is important because coral reefs are areas of enormous ecological, economic, and cultural value.

Next is a chat with Gabriel Forestieri and Meridith Sallee a couple whose dance company projectLimb contributes to the genre known as Underwater Dance. They dance underwater without the aid of mechanical devices. Their dance is engaging and an expression of beauty of the human body surrounded by nature.
