Wo(men) Mind the Water Artivist Series podcasts feature inspirational individuals who share their passion for the ocean. They are artivists (artists and activists, in other words creative people) who discuss their connection with the ocean and their ocean-inspired art. Through their stories and art, we hope to inspire YOU and move YOU to take action to protect the ocean. Wo(men) Mind the Water podcasts has produced more than 80 video and audio-only format podcasts. Video versions are available on the Wo(men)Mind the Water website, our YouTube channel and on Museum on Main Street, a Smithsonian Institution outreach program. Audio-only versions can be heard on this website and on iTunes and Spotify.

Indira Brooks, social environmental program manager at the Roatán Marine Park, works to protect the little island's marine resources. Indira is currently working on an island-wide initiative to ban sunscreens containing petrochemicals. These sunscreens harm Roatán’s coral reefs, which are second only in size to Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

Check out Indira’s story and the more than 80 other amazing guests who’ve shared their journeys on the Wo(men) Mind the Water Artivist Series.
