Episode 5 and holiday shopping

The newest episode of the Women Mind the Water podcast is now available. Episode 5 features Kate Hruby, artist, educator, and sailor. As an artist, Kate creates colorful, playful images designed to communicate science in a fun, engaging way. She also hosts the Go Forth and Science podcast. Listening to Kate is like chumming around with an old friend. As always there is an audio-only version of the podcast on iTunes.

If you haven’t already, be sure to make time to listen to Episode 4 with Michelle Lee Provencal. Michelle is a fiber artist who makes amazingly life-like sea creatures using sheep’s wool and a special pointy needle.

Other new things are a photography section. New ocean-inspired photographs will be added from time to time. And, in time for holiday shopping, there’s a SALE going on in the shop! PLEASE consider purchasing a print or a t-shirt from the  shop. Proceeds go to the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium, a non-profit that conducts research aimed at seeking solutions to mitigate human impacts on the ocean.

Something else newsworthy, Women Mind the Water creator Pam Ferris-Olson is to be interviewed by Steve Minich for an upcoming episode of Total Maine on WMTW TV. More on this in the next update.
