March is a Celebration of Women and Water

March is Women’s History Month! And, special days this month are March 8th, International Woman’s Day, and March 25, World Water Day. With so much to celebrate, Women Mind the Water decided to update the look of our podcast section. Check it out. Each artist now has her own page. Each page is full of information about the guest and her podcast.

Women Mind the Water is proud of the diversity of the artists we’ve featured. We’re excited that upcoming podcasts will continue this trend. Next up will be writer and illustrator Karen Romano Young. Karen’s art combines art and science, particularly ocean science. Karen talks about her weekly science comic Antarctic Log. Karen has been to Antarctica three times! Then Episode 13 will feature Rose McAdoo of Whisk Me Away Cakes. Rose, a visual artist, uses cake to raise awareness around global issues.

Also, be sure to check out Cool Water Canaries in the artwork section. The image features three cool beluga whales and speaks to the plight of their critically endangered population in Cook Inlet, Alaska. The population has declined significantly due to energy exploration, fishing, noise pollution and habitat degradation.

Remember, an audio-only version of the podcast is available free on iTunes. Why not subscribe?!
