March Celebrates Women & Water

March is a celebration of women and water. March 8th was International Woman’s Day and the 25th will be World Water Day. We’re celebrating by working to be brighter and more inspiring. One of the ways we are doing this by giving a fresh look to our podcast section. Now, each artist has her own page with more information about the podcast and links.

Women Mind the Water is proud of the diversity of the art we feature. Our next featured artist will be Rose McAdoo of Whisk Me Away Cakes. Rose is a visual artist who uses cake as her medium to raise awareness. Clearly, Women Mind the Water continues a tradition of serving up great stories. After Rose, we’ll be focusing on dance in the mangroves of Florida and the mudflats of Maine. The conversation will be with dancer and founder of National Water Dance Dale Andree. Soon we’ll be posting conversations with artists from beyond the borders of the United States.

We’d love it if you would consider buying a T-shirt in our shop. All proceeds from sales are designated for The Marine Mammal Center, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the advancement of global ocean conservation through the rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals, scientific research, and education. When you buy a T-shirt you are not purchasing something new and unique but making a statement about the ocean and her creatures, supporting women business owners, and helping to rescue marine mammals. And, if you haven’t please check out Cool Water Canaries The image references the plight of the critically endangered beluga population of Cook Inlet, Alaska. It’s sad that this whale population has declined significantly but the image offers a bit more light-hearted look at three beluga whales.

Please visit our site soon often. Check what’s new. Remember, an audio-only version of the podcast is available free on iTunes. Why not subscribe?
