We’re Making a Big Splash

Women Mind the Water was featured on May 10 on the Michigan-based NPR affiliate WGVU Morning Show (95.3 / 88.5 FM Grand Rapids and 95.3 FM Muskegon). That interview can be heard by going to the Mentions page and clicking either the photograph of Pam preparing for a podcast or on the NPR banner below the photograph. WGVU radio promoted the interview as a discussion with “Podcaster of Women Mind the Water Pam Ferris-Olson shares her trailblazers who care about the environment, plus tips on caring for the earth with key examples of true passion.”

Our latest artivist guest is both passionate and energetic. Asher Jay is outspoken about the beauty of nature and the power of art to move people to feel a part of, not apart from, life on Earth. In addition to sharing her philosophy on art and conservation, Asher discusses Fallen Night Sky, a creation that features a whale shark made from debris collected along the shore.

Much more is planned in the coming months. There are interviews with a filmmaker who started a women’s surfing association that takes to the water in Maine in winter; an interview with the musician who wrote the Women Mind the Water podcast theme song; and an author/filmmaker who has written two books about women who fish for lobsters.

If you haven’t done so already, summer is a great time to subscribe to our podcast. Binge watch to catch up on what you’ve missed. We’d also love it if you’d check our Shop for a marine animal inspired T-shirt. Remember ALL proceeds go to help marine mammals.
