Podcast Episode 6 and more news
Episode 6 of the Women Mind the Water Podcast is now available. Jess Newley, a Washington-based environmental educator with a passion for underwater photography and videography talks about her diverse diving experiences and her current project developing a virtual reality program using a 360 camera. School kids will get an underwater experience without having to put on a wet suit and get wet. The podcast had some video technical issues early on be patient. You will be rewarded with a few shark photos. Jess’ podcast will join the earlier Women Mind the Water podcasts and become part of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street Collection. Kate Hruby (Episode 5) and I collaborated to produce a poem with accompanying artwork about whale watching. That print will be in the WMW shop soon. Be sure to check out the other prints and T-shirt that are already available. All proceeds go to the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium, a non-profit that conducts research aimed at seeking solutions to mitigate human impacts on the ocean.
Also, appearing soon are two new designs: one featuring an octopus and the other beluga whales.
