To Women Mind the Water Artivist Series podcast listeners who use iTunes, the podcast did not end with episode 19. In posting to iTunes I overlooked a step and episodes 20-25 were omitted. I have corrected the error and all episodes have been added. More good news is that the the Women Mind the Water Artivist Series now has 25 episodes available on iTunes and, as always, directly from the Women Mind the Water website. You’ll find the latest interviews with visual artist/dancer Vania Lozano, visual artist/muralist Lluvia Tec, both talented artists reside in Mexico. There are three Mainers: Saltwater Classroom founder Lexi Doudera, author Ali Farrell, and ecological artist Krisanne Baker and D.C. resident and visual artist/printer Ruth Trevarrow. All episodes with text, audio, and video are posted on the Museum on Main Street, part of the Smithsonian Institution’s Traveling Exhibition Service. The next upcoming podcast episode will be with Pam Longobardi, a Regents’ Professor and Distinguished Professor at Georgia State University. I talk with Pam about her Drifters project that involves the collection of plastic debris washed ashore and its use in installations that reference how plastic is transforming our world.

Stop by and see our new home page that we think is more visual, engaging, and streamlined. In August Women Mind the Water will reveal a new About page. There’s also a new feature in the News section. We’ve added posts on subjects we think you’ll find interesting such as “Why Shark Week Should be Every Week” and “Do Mermaids Exist?” Do you have a question we can answer? Please let us know at womenmindthewater@comcast.net.
